Overview

Colle.cx ("we," "our," or "the app") is a collection management app for books, board games, and other collectibles. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. This is used for authentication and cloud sync.

Collection data

The items you add to your collections (titles, barcodes, images, custom fields, notes) are stored locally on your device and, if you opt in to cloud sync, on our servers.

Barcode scanning

When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to third-party lookup services (e.g., Google Books API, BoardGameGeek) to retrieve item metadata. We do not store camera images.

Usage data

We collect anonymous usage analytics (app opens, feature usage) to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify you.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the app
  • Sync your collections across devices (if enabled)
  • Look up item metadata via barcode scanning
  • Send account-related emails (password reset, billing)
  • Improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns

Data Storage & Security

Free-tier data is stored locally on your device. Paid-tier data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored securely on Supabase (our cloud database provider). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Books API — to look up book metadata from barcodes
  • BoardGameGeek — to look up board game metadata
  • RevenueCat — to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases
  • Loops.so — to send transactional and account-related emails
  • Supabase — to store and sync your collection data in the cloud

Your Rights

You can:

  • Export all your collection data at any time
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of cloud sync and keep data local only
  • Request a copy of your personal data

Children's Privacy

Colle.cx is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
